Mudcloth

Classic and traditional African Mudcloth fabric add richness while paying homage to any to any space, garment, crafts, or creative vision. Made in Mali using traditional methods, our mudcloth pieces are "Lapa" size; 38" - 45" wide x 63" - 68" long. Sizes may vary due to their hand made and handwoven nature. Traditional African mudcloth sheets are handwoven and made one at a time. No two pieces of mud cloth are exactly alike. Patterns and symbols are each repsective of African stories, villages, Tribes, and proverbs. Mudcloth has a long tradition of being used by West African warriors and hunters to camouflage themselves. Slight imperfections are indigenious to each piece of fabric (ink smudges, stitches, patterns).
